The updated Mini 3-Door, Convertible and John Cooper Works (JCW) have been launched in India. Available in singular petrol variants, the updated models get a number of cosmetic updates such as new color options, new upholstery and trim finishers, new alloy wheel designs and updated equipment lists.

Powering the Mini Cooper 3-door hatches is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. But in the 3-door Hatch and the Convertible variant, the engine is tuned to produce 189 bhp and 28.55 kgm of peak torque. As for the John Cooper Work variant, it belts out 228 bhp and 32.62 kgm of torque. This allows the JCW to sprint from 0-100 kph in 6.1 seconds with the help of its 8-speed auto ‘box. While the other two are paired to a 7-speed DCT. That still enables the Mini 3-door Hatch to produce a sprint time of 6.7 seconds. And the Convertible is only a second slower than the JCW.

The Mini JCW comes with 18-inch wheels, while the other two have 17-inchers on them. Inside, it features an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, ambient lighting as optional, a 5-inch digital instrument display that moves with the steering column, and a Head-up display.
The updated hatchbacks are Mini’s third product (second, if not counting special editions) launch in India this year.
