Maruti Suzuki has begun assembling the Jimny in India

The production of the Suzuki Jimny off-roader has commenced in India at the brand’s Gurgaon facility for export markets to meet the demand. Similar to the one used for the also body-on-frame Gypsy, this first batch of 50 cars are actually produced from imported CKD kits.

The three-door off-roader is sold in five single- and three dual-tone color options. The two-tone Chiffon Ivory Metallic, Brisk Blue Metallic, and Superior White, which were spotted recently on public roads, are seen in the images.

Compared to the previous version, the Jimny adopts an evolutionary approach to design with its cutesy styling and tall pillars retained. The front fascia boasts of circular headlamps, a black grille, turn indicators within the headlamp cluster, and a black front bumper with circular fog lamps.

In India the Suzuki Jimny will go up against the Mahindra Thar.
