Maruti Suzuki 2022 Grand Vitara : Out with On Road Prices , Base Variant starts @ 10.45 Lacs.

With its high-set bonnet and strong shoulder lines, the Grand Vitara is a gorgeous SUV. The massive front grille is divided by a chrome insert that connects the narrow DRLs. The squared wheel arches and the small bulge in the bumper all contribute to the Grand Vitara’s large vehicle appearance.

The dashboard of the Grand Vitara is well-organized, with the 9-inch infotainment screen taking centre stage. Maruti Suzuki has included a slew of goodies, including a heads-up display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, TPMS, tilt and telescopic steering wheel adjustment, and more. It also has a large double-opening sunroof, which is the one thing we Indians worry about more than mileage. Leatherette seats are standard on higher-spec models.

The Grand Vitara comes with both a mild hybrid and a strong hybrid option. The strong hybrid variant is driven by a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine linked with an electric motor, producing 114bhp in total. The engine generates 122Nm of torque, while the e-motor generates 141Nm and is coupled to a CVT transmission.

The strong hybrid has an ARAI-certified number of 28kmpl, but we scored over 20kmpl in our road test with a combination of city and highway driving. The mild hybrid, on the other hand, is powered by a K-series 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing a modest 101.5bhp and 137Nm torque and is available with either a manual or CVT transmission. The manual has an ARAI-certified figure of 21.1kmpl, while the automatic has a mileage of 20.58kmpl. It also has an AWD option with numerous modes to choose from, including sand, snow, and rock.

The strong hybrid which is supplied by Toyota , will receive better pricing from Toyota, while the other variants will most likely be more affordable from the Maruti stable. The Grand Vitara is priced starting at Rs 10.45 lakh ex-showroom for the blast smart-hybrid variant and rising to Rs 19.65 lakh for the dual tone strong hybrid top grade option. Prior to the debut, it was believed that Maruti would undercut Toyota by roughly Rs 50,000, however the Grand Vitara has been priced at a premium of Rs 66,000 over the similar top-spec Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
