Mahindra received bids of over Rs 83 lakh for the new-gen Thar.

All new Mahindra Thar which is to be launched on October 2nd is one of the most awaited launches in India. Now apart from that Mahindra is conducting an auction for their first unit of the new gen Thar to aid COVID-19 relief efforts, and on the opening day of the auction they received a bid over Rs 80 lakhs.

The auction deadline has been extended to September 29. With more than 3,800 individuals from over 30 Indian cities entering the fray to get their hands on the first unit of the new Mahindra Thar, bidding started at a reserve price of Rs 25 lakh. Those interested can place a bid in multiples of Rs 25,000. At the end of the auction, the highest bidder will be notified and asked to choose the Thar variant and colour of their choice, and Thar #1 will feature customized badging with the owner’s initials, leatherette seats and serial number 1 on the VIN plate.

Mahindra will even match the winning bid amount, and the entire amount will be transferred to the winner’s choice of charity, with the options being the Naandi Foundation, which is working to create sustainable livelihoods for farmers in the post-COVID-19 world, Swades Foundation, which is helping rebuild rural livelihoods, or the PM Cares Fund.
