Jawa Perak, Review and Drive experience

First factory made bobber motorcycle in India – Jawa Perak.

The Jawa Perak is the third motorcycle model from Jawa motorcycles after Classic and Forty Two. Jawa motorcycles, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra presented their 3 models in 2018 from which both Classic and Forty Two are launched on November 15, 2018. Exactly 1 year later on November 15, 2019 Perak was launched at a price of Rs 1.94 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). Can Jawa Motorcycle write the success story of their all new Perak?

Review:

In the segment Jawa Perak is a masterpiece. A unique design with retro looks for a bobber motorcycle is perfect.

The matte black color scheme, blacked out engine with gold highlights, make it a striking poser, even when standing still. The Bobber-like styling elements include a floating seat, bar-end mirrors, chopped fenders, and stubby exhaust mufflers.

Jawa Perak is powered by 334 cc engine. This Jawa Perak engine generates a power of 30 bhp and a torque of 31 Nm. Jawa Perak gets Disc brakes in the front and rear. The kerb weight of Jawa Perak is 175 Kg. Jawa Perak has Tube Tyre and Spoke Wheels.

Drive Experience:

It’s a looker for sure, and is a guaranteed head-turner, on the move, and even when parked. The single seated motorcycle is almost same in handling comparing to other 2 Jawa models. Performance wise Jawa Perak is a beast and beauty in its appearance.

Although corner clearance is hindered by the lack of ground clearance, and the side-stand scraping tarmac too soon, there is still no doubt that the Perak feels stable around a corner and feels well-planted, even when leaned over.

In the Indian market the bobber motorcycles aren’t successful as this is the first model of the segment and need updating.
