Citroen C5 Aircross launched at Rs 29.90 lakh

The Citroen C5 Aircross SUV has been launched in India starting at Rs 29.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Citroen’s debut model for the Indian market, the C5 Aircross was expected to launch last year. Citroen opened bookings for the SUV last month with early customers – those who booked by April 6 – able to avail of a complimentary 5-year maintenance package.

Citroën is launching 100% direct online buying for the C5 Aircross SUV. Customers in over 50 Indian cities  (online network city list in appendix) outside the dealer network will be covered through this direct online initiative and can order directly from the factory. A dedicated e-commerce-enabled website with a seamless journey for selection of finance, insurance, annual maintenance packages, extended warranty as well as trade-in of the existing car is available.

Customers will be supported by a dedicated Test Drive fleet, E-sales advisor, Virtual Product Demo, and a Doorstep Delivery facility.

With a starting price of Rs 29.90 lakh, the C5 Aircross comes across as quite pricey considering the entry level C5 Aircross Feel is priced higher than the fully-loaded 4×4 diesel variants of its chief rivals the Hyundai Tucson* (Rs 24.60-27.33 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Jeep Compass* (Rs 18.69-28.29 lakh, ex-showroom, India).
