All you need to know about new BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS

2020 BS6 BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS have both gone on sale in India and bookings can be made through an authorized dealership and online as well. BS6 G 310 R will be available at ₹2.45 lakh while BS6 G 310 GS will now set you back by ₹2.85 lakh. This means that both the BMW motorrads are now significantly cheaper than their BS4 counterparts. For reference, BS4 G 310 R  used to retail at ₹2.99 lakh while BS4 G 310 GS used to cost ₹3.49 lakh.

BMW Motorrad has revamped the G 310 R’s colour palette with three new colour options that are much more vibrant than before. To begin with, there is the Style Sport colour that costs and additional Rs 10,000. It comprises of a dark grey colour with hints of white on the headlamp and side panels.

They also equipped the 2020 G 310 GS with full-LED lighting, slipper and assist clutch, ride-by-wire throttle and a BS6-compliant engine. Moreover, despite all these upgrades, BMW has cut down the price by a whopping Rs 64,000 and pegged the new G 310 GS at Rs 2.85 lakh. 

The paint scheme also features a bright red frame, wheels, and graphics. The other paint scheme is Cosmic Black that includes a black base colour with white on the side panels and headlamp cowl. The third paint is called Polar White infuses BMW’s signature blue and white colour scheme.

BS6 G 310 R and G 310 GS are propelled by a 313 cc, liquid-cooled engine that generates 34 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm at 7,500 of peak torque. This engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox with slipper-clutch as standard. 

Both the bikes continue to use a fully digital LCD instrument panel that offers essential readouts like speed, tachometer, odometer, trip meter, gear position-indicator, clock, fuel gauge, etc. In their new avatar, the bikes also get ride-by-wire technology for smooth throttle response.
