The 2023 BMW M2 has been leaked ,Its not a secret anymore and only three weeks before its scheduled press debut and people have mixed reviews with majority of them Not liking the outcome , while many speculated this must be a trick from BMW as the car maker is known for pulling the M3 UTE prank on “april fools” a few years ago .

The origin of the photos is anonymous , but this is unmistakably the G87 M2. The model shown here is painted in the new color Zaandvort Blue. The upcoming 2023 BMW M2 contains hardly any secrets by now. The popular sports coupe was rumored and talked about in the last two years .

CEO Frank van Meel has confirmed the new M2 will be the last M car to use pure internal combustion, with either hybrid or full-electrification on the cards for the firm’s performance-focused cars.

Van Meel also said “We will see increasing electrification in other vehicles, of course in different forms, starting with the 48-volt electrical system and plug-in hybrids to fully electric drives. Seen in this way, the M2 will be the last M with a pure combustion engine drive and also without electrification scope such as a 48-volt on-board network”.

The new G87 M2 will resemble its predecessor in appearance, as will the 2 Series counterpart. It keeps the single headlamps up front, but adds some rectangular air intakes and a racing-inspired kidney grille.

The G87 BMW M2 has an aggressive bumper in the back with the standard quad pipes. There is also a slight trunk spoiler and vertical reflectors that increase the breadth of the vehicle. The M design is completed by a carbon fibre roof and M mirror caps.

The 2023 BMW M2 will have the same shoes as the M4, with 19-inch front wheels wrapped in 275-mm tyres and 20-inch rear wheels encased in 285-mm tyres. It will also have the same stock brakes as its bigger sibling, but without the extra carbon package. The new M2 will have 450-460 horsepower and around the same level of performance as the previous M2 CS. The manual and automatic gearboxes will be adapted from the M4, and there will be no power differences because the S58 will produce the same output in both applications.

However this maybe not be a prank but there are still speculations regarding its performance & handling to see if it still inherits the BMW punch or has something better to offer.
